Balancing life en pointe!

A full-time dancer, college student, and daughter. My name is Phoeboa Rei Buen and you may just call me Boa for short. I’m 20 years old, born and raised in Baguio City.

I never really had a “typical” childhood and teen life like others as I gave all my time and energy into dancing (11 years and counting!) But despite not being able to go to birthday parties and “barkada hangouts”, dancing has molded me to be the person I am today.

I would describe myself as someone who values her time being alone and loves being alone. I find joy in reading books, journal writing, and taking pictures. I am fond of listening to music and watching my favorite films for the 100th time. I am a sentimental person.

I have to be honest when I say I feel that I am behind in my program — B.A. Communication. It’s because I never tried what most of my classmates did. But every day is another chance of learning. As I take each day a chance to become better, more pressure and challenges are coming and I will welcome them wholeheartedly as it will mold me to become the person I want to be in the future. I want to write stories. I want to be a writer. And I leave you a quote that I have lived by for years now “It doesn’t get easier, you just get better.”
